Mulga Tree

Along the dusty beaten track,
Blue grey mulga grows in line,
Like a strong and hardy forest,
Out where it's mostly fine.

Rough grey bark from root to twig,
Thin leaves of bluish grey,
Soft, fuzzy, yellow flowers,
Resemble bumble bees at play.

With dark, hard mulga apples,
And a bush tucker treat,
Useful native to all around,
Even good for stock to eat.

Mulga trees standing so strong,
Throughout drought and rain,
Perfect outback survivor,

Across the western plain.
