Breastfeeding

Newborn bub ever so small,
Mothers breast to snuggly crawl,
Emotions flow from all nearby,
As newborn suckles after a cry.

Six months on testing a new tooth,
Surprised mother left painfully aloof,
Baby smiles cheekily ear to ear,
At loving mother ever so dear.

One year past bub asks for more,
Mum now runs to the nearest door,
Weaning can be horrid it’s true,
Ever so hard to see it through.

Tears and pain, sticky and sweet,
Beastmilk, bubs favourite eat,
Alas eventually must come to an end,
As Supermum’s can’t keep it in the blend.
