Lest we forget
ANZAC day comes but once a year,
In which we remember our soldiers dear,
Who fought for our country in great fear,
Let us always remember them, perhaps with a tear.
Zoned to a section in our fast modern lives,
Thoughts of our courageous soldiers thrives,
Even when we succumb the biggest of dives,
Till the best news for us finally arrives.
Australian, New Zealand Army Corps, do their best,
Soldiers brave, proud and true, put to the test,
Diggers bright, bold, in need of rest,
May every one of them be rightfully blessed.
Covered in courage, blood, sweat, tears and sand,
From toe tip through to trembling hand,
Should be more than welcomed with a brass band,
For behind brave soldiers united people stand.
Never a moment should we ever forget,
A mighty soldier brave whenever met,
For our freedom we are forever in our debt,
Those brave ANZACs, Lest We Forget.
