Oh farewell year at its end,
You’re now memories in our past,
Your good and bad experiences,
Bring hope the new year won’t be so fast.

Now comes time for the new year,
Bubbly celebrations and fireworks,
Friends, feasts, drinks and fun,
Even where consequence lurks.

Here come all the new opportunities,
All the new hello’s and goodbye’s,
New goals, both long and short,
Wins, losses, laughs and cries.

Bringing forth new challenges,
Creating new strengths and views,
Gaining knowledge, growing wiser,
Perhaps a moment to sing the blues.

So as we go forth to celebrate,
The old year out and new in,
Smile like you don’t have a care,




And enjoy the new year as it does begin!
