The Roo that came for dinner

One warm spring afternoon,
Over the sleepy indoor din,
I heard a ting and turned around,
To find a kangaroo had hopped on in.

Nothing seemed to bother him,
As he casually munched away,
His mob ’twas on the other side,
For his dinner he decided to stay.

There he silently was dining,
In the middle of the green grass,
Dogs barking at his presence,
Toddler watching safely till he did pass.

That cheeky young male kangaroo,
Whom had boldly left behind his mob,
To enjoy the bounty of our green lawn,

Till full, then over the fence again did lob.
