Diary of a pregnancy

Try, try, try again,- will this month ever end?
Tests and numbers running through your head,
So overwhealming, you cry instead.

Then as you start to belive your fears,
That extra line on a test apears,
In disbelief you do some more,
Then start bouncing with joy galore.

Few months along, test after test,
All you want to do is spew and rest,
An ultrasound eases your fears,
There's only one in there my dears.

Taste buds requesting funny foods,
whilst crazy hormones govern your moods,
Next thing you know you're halfway through,
And no clothes seem to fit on you,
Time for a nice big shopping spree,
For items to fit you and baby.

You then just want to eat and eat,
Swelling attacks your hands and feet,
Bubs growth starts creating pains,
Patient hubby listens to your complains,
Icy weather making things so much worse,
while limitations make you want to curse.

Next you know there's eight to go,
baby is now right down low,
You're gaining more aches and cramps,
With a yo yo appetite that amps,
'Contractions' start to come and go,
When 'proper' labour starts,
Only the lord above may know!

You've been waiting now so long,
With nothing much going wrong,
Impatience has started mounting,
From when the first contractions hit,
Professionals make you feel like a twit,
Yet still you keep contraction counting.

Hubby's home, Presures down,
You turn around stresses frown,
It's time to wriggle bubba along,
By trying every trick you're game,
With birthing a healthy baby the aim,
You're now slowly 'Dancing' to that song.

Walking, Pineapple juice and dates too,
Yoga and Mexican food join the cue,
Lavender and things to ignight the senses,
'till exhaustion forces you to rest,
You'll need all your strength upon this quest,
So take it easy, whilst everyone else tenses.

Then finally contractions start getting stronger,
More painful and somewhat longer,
Not too long now till your baby's grand debut,
Perhaps five long minutes, or seven hours more,
Just relax, Breathe, and hurry out that door!
Very soon Bub will be looking up at you!
